Just read somewhere that over 8 days 14 such cameras captured 63,558 traffic offenders under the AES (Auotmated Enforecement System).
Bloody s@%t.
Somebody worked out to be 567 offences a day or one in every 2 and half minute and once all 830 cameras operational - 171,772,650 offences a year so if x average 100 RM fine will be how much?
Hope none of us forummers here are unlucky to have been caught on "candid camera" already. But heard a few friends have already got a few.
Well have to drive within the speed limits every instance and do not jump red lights etc - not worth to pay all these fines.
Actually yesterday had a bad skid after dropping "Botak" boss at KLIA and on way to have my siew yuk mee - had been raining and perhaps the road was slippery but probably hit an oil patch as I was going quite slow round a corner - lucky was on a side road and no car coming from behind - skidded and turned 90 degrees and lucky rammed my left side and bumper into the guard railing which stopped the car. Slight damage to my back bumper and maybe door also a bit out of shape. Actaully already agreed to trade in for a second hand Innova and this incident knocked off another 400 Rm from my trade in value. So have been conciously driving very slow since yesterday!

If you get summons don't pay immediately. wait until they give 50% discount during festivities or before elections.

I don't understand why they don't put up speed camera warning signs like other countries. These will prevent people from speeding.

instead, they want people to speed and then fine them. Most likely some "Company" is making commissions on these fines.

I have been told that those existing warning signs (there are some already) - now is real got cameras after that - watch out for those overhead bridges, flyovers etc - any structures where they can put a camera. Those who usually use the Putra Jaya, Cyberjaya routes - also a lot of cameras there.
Sure after some time there will be syndicates or runners who can get your "fines" reduced for a fee appearing on the scene - this is Malaysia.
