You r right. Hope his son having right pro teaching. Don waste it. I came across this many many times. Alot fathers guided them. In d end of d day , all come up with rojak.
Please please don teach by your self. Unless you r pro in teaching n pro in mentality. Not pro in playing. Hope no offend to all.

this is his latest video taken on 15 March 2012 at UKM Range.

Ezekiel hits his 3 wood. am training him to reduce the space in his gripping the club. he started to do that because the club was so heavy to him. in fact he needs to grow 1 more inch to fit the minimum height for the club.

so far, it has reduced a bit, but i think it is still long way to go. I think in about 2 months he will be able to do it.

Enjoy.

Both the boy and the swing are growing fast! Congrats to the proud father. I enjoy watching the progress.

thanks for the advice. appreciate it. at this moment he has no instructor, but the other day, Dean Hartman was asking me to take my son to him cuz he wants to see my boy.

but after seeing he says, he says its too early cuz he cant communicate with the boy. and my son swings better than the 4-5 year old kids. and he's to small to be with the 9 years old as it creates imbalance. He says he'll evaluate again when my son turn 4.

so for now, for one year, he tells me what to do with my boy. But i also appreciate the advise given by Steven Guiliano via his PM. both are almost similar.

i'll post more video from time to time just to track his progress and you guys to advise us. at one point for sure he'll be best with the pros than us.

actly, i am not turning my son into a pro. i think that part he can decide for himself if he is good enuff.

but it really gave me pleasure and satisfaction that my son can swing. i know that in a few years time, i already have a playing partner.

as to golf, he really likes it. he always come back to golf to swing 4-5 time every 20-30 minutes. sometimes 'pening jugak' cuz he swings too much. since he like it, i just support. like the malay proverb "sudah mengantuk, disorong bantal".

as i am writing this, he is now asking me to go to the range. last time he swing was last saturday.

Was at Sunway last nite. took my son to the range after meeting a client. He has been asking to go to the range the whole week and i could only take him last nite.

We were at the KLGCC golf fest, and he wanted to hit there. Ooo no.. sorry, its too expensive there.

My boy was frust at his swing. But generally, i think it was OK. been comparing his swing in January 2012 and Mar 2012. Improvements are, quite obvious. Less space in his grip. Less lifting his left foot. Hitting higher and further. He is now learning to chip.

Enjoy the new video:

Erizzzz,

Many thanks for sharing your son's progress. It never fails to amaze me and make me smile.

And this most recent video, instead of admiring how cute he is, I was analyzing the swing mechanics intently. It is becoming a very good swing, and the potential is already showing clearly.

He is aware of how to harness the torque and release it correctly. He creates lag, stores it, brings it down to the slot, and releases it, all done correctly.

I can safely say, many many adult swings are not even close to some of the dynamics that Ezekiel is showing here. And at such a young age, it is simply amazing.

i think the next short video will be him pitching into the green. We've been training this also and he's doing ok. Only that i dont have the chance to video him.

He's also been chipping a bit, but he dont quite get it right yet and the contact hasnt been very good.

still have not taken any video of him chipping and pitching as have not taken him to the green for quite sometime.

But now, am working to get him to switch from baseball grip to interlocking.

I would definitely get him to stick to the baseball grip until his hands grow to a small to medium size or his grip strength gets quite strong.

tried the Mines range few days ago with my son. i think we like it there, plus the light is bright at nite and it is closer to home.

so, we're moving from Sunway to the Mines for nite practice.

days time, i think we'll stick to ukm cuz its cheaper there.

What time do you usually arrive at The Mines in the evenings, if you get a chance come say hi down at the Academy end or I'll be up at the Driving Range a few evenings a week next month.

Look forward to meeting up sometime.
