All,

How much do you typically tip your caddies? RM20? RM30? Or RM50 to share among the two caddies in a flight?

Thank you all. Just wanted to make sure I don't over tip.

I normally give 20 per caddy too. Worst case when none of my flight mates got small change, we give 50 to be shared by the two.

And I agree with Mickey, let's not spoil the 'market rate'.

This has happen to me at Bukit Kemuning. Now i do not take the caddy over there.
Many caddy now has become too demanding. For me the best is still KGSAAS and Kg. Kuantan. At Kg Kuantan you dont have to pay caddy fee to the club but only pay tip to them. furthermore its a walking course. and i normally tip the caddy 30 (share with my buggy mate).

When i think that they came here to work as caddies from so far away., and all the troubles that they have to go through to get here, my heart sinks in.... and all the sweat and hard work they have to go through, especially under the hot sun and our bad plays and demands (reading the greens, searching for balls,etc)... So dear golfers , let's part with so loose change and tip them graciously ......

Tips should be given base on their performance. Sad to say, some of them are really lazy, I encounter bad experience in Ayer Keroh GCC, caddie demand RM50 being reason he is a A grade caddie. By performance, I do notthink this guy deserve this much.

For me, I will pay RM30-RM50 depends on their performance. Those carry bad attitude, I will pay rm20.

Given a choice, I do not want any caddie, but some club insists us to have one.

yeap, some club appoint caddy as compulsory...

like @ Kundang, RM36.00 per caddy is a must, with the buggy on course facility...

im not going to pay any RM as a tip to them even they ask (if they do so)...
reason is they are not performing well as a caddy. usually to search ballz in the
rough or read the green. some more, caddy rate were so high compare before last 2 moths back only RM30.00...

i think what we've paid RM36.00 is good enough for them even they personaly get only half from that rate... Crying or Very sad Wink

Syah,

You're right, caddy at Kg Kuantan is 1 for each Golfer. Some of them are good and some of them are not so. But they carry your golf bag and walks with you and for that yes i will graciously pay them. Btw the minimum for caddies there is 20 but its up to you if you think they have served you well.Razz

Btw talking about caddies, its so subjective coz everyone have their own experience but need to remember that caddies job is to assist golfer. as long there is demand they will always have job. When we take caddy, we will pay the caddy fee to the Club and this is the caddies salary. but this so called 'salary' is very little and the caddies will have to depend on the tips. But if the caddy depends on the tips, well they have to work for it. Same for us in our career right. If you want something, you have to work smart or hard for it.Razz

but at the end, not all caddy are lousy and not all caddy are good. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing
