This is my home course. Best scenery overall. Lots of trees for shades. The course is cow grass and putting greens is bermuda grass. Very challenging course all three 9's. Walking allowed in the mornings and evenings. Use own trolley or caddy. The course is well kept now with new management. The roughs are trim now and easier to locate balls now compared to last time. Overall money worth! Very Happy

Yeah, I love the trees that provide shades while golfing. Well, I can say the club is well maintained. Love the fairways even though cowgrass. The green is also OK.

I just love the Ghafar-9. On the Par-5 600M if Im not mistaken, It requires a good long drive, a perfect 2nd shot and follow by a long 3rd shot. They are people who use 3-wood for their 3rd shot. Laughing Shocked

I got a very good caddy by the name of Ghani. He play single if Im not mistaken. Good guide through out the game. I was informed that there are crocodiles in the lakes. Wow.. But I noticed that there were people who still play around the lakes. Some of them simply touch the water by their legs.. Dont they realized that they can be their prey. According to Ghani, there is no casualty yet. But who know you might be the 1st.

Overall, the cost to play there are among the cheapest I guess. GLI member only need to fork out around RM 50 to play on weekend morning. Surely, I will return to play.

Ayer Keroh Country Club is a good club with nice scenery and well maintained courses. there are 3 nine's. Ghaffar nine, the oldest nine in akcc, tunku nine, and governor nine. We just held Melaka Amatuer Open 2008 here. It is a tough course. Many Single handicapper ( BUAYAS ) terbabas here...haha. Many of them play more than 85 gross for day 1, day2 lagi teruk. haha.
No one of them played under. for NETT....

It is a challenging course and very nice to play with the members here. they r very friendly.
Longest par 3- 220 meter, longest par 4- 490 meter, longest par 5- 610 meter.

I have played AKCC many times especially when they had those old serangoon greens. It was damn difficult to putton those greens. Fairways generously wide but that last hole. 600m uphill. I remember it was driver 3 wood 5 wood to reach the green!! Last played there in 2001. I didn't know the greens were changed to bermuda. So it must be easier to putt on them then.

Played there last weekend,.. a very nice course,. mature landscape all around,. many monkeys around certain holes,. even saw a pair (monkey) doing thier stuff and that probably was the reason my game when down hill there after,.. Found the ground abit hard and greens not biting,.. rating 6.5/10

Used to be one of my favorite course - still is but don't play there so often now.
Once we were at Hole 18 waiting to tee off (used to be Malaysia's longest Par 5) and had to wait for a family of wild boars to walk across before can tee off.
When dry the fairways are very hard and run a lot so local knowledge and if can place your ball in correct place will find it playing shorter and easier if you can manage the greens.
You should have reported the monkey business to MUIS or Jais or Rela and get them arrested (I lost Ibrahim Ali's number or can call him also and he can start a protest there and then)
Anyone from your group managed regulation on that Par 5? Is still pretty long and need a good drive and good 2nd shot to get the green in range with an iron for 3rd.

Ivan,
I think I did the following combination to get to the Par-5 green,. Driver +3wd +7wd and only managed to land before the green apron,.. Green also very tricky, double putted for a bogey,..
Had a great time there though,.. the monkeys were funny esp the couple showing off thier stuff,..
