Closest would be a 9-hole par 3 course in District 7 (Phu My Hung).
bit farther out but still close is Thu Duc Golf Club. You'd need to call them first and book your tee off time. They might let you play as a single. On busy day they will fit you in with other singles and there might be a wait. Best to call them up first and book your tee off time. Because the course is very busy on the weekend.

A bit farther is Song Be Golf Club in Binh Duong. They have twilight golf starting at 3PM until sun down for ~37USD. The last 3 holes will be lit if it's dark. But of course if you hit many OBs like I do the light won't help much (maybe I need to look for GLOW IN THE DARK balls). In Song Be near the tee box of hole number 8 there's 3 golf balls retailers windows on the course wall (pretty funny the first time you see it!) They sell used balls ranging from 3k/per to 25k/per. You can get taylormade, srixon and even pro v1's for cheap.

Yes you will always have a caddy playing golf in Vietnam. Please tip Caddy 150k to 200K Viet Nam dong. That's the normal rate here please do not stray too far from it.

Here in Vietnam a caddy's job is to take care of all the things on the course for you so you just need to worry about hitting the ball. They will rake the bunkers, fix divots, retrieve hard to find balls, clean clubs, hold on to your water, keep your balls and tees etc.. for you. Please let them do their job. They will most likely mark the ball on green and line the ball up for you also but you might opt to do this yourself.

Your golf bag will be on a cart through the round, but the caddy will be pushing it, not you. You can't opt to do that yourself (because course management can't count on golfers to do the things I listed above.)

If you have more time you can practice at Him Lam driving range and socialize with some of us. Then you might not have to worry about playing alone and most likely not worry about taxis.

Becareful of those cheap Pro Vs as some are fake.

I am not professional golfer but I bought loads of them on my last trip to Saigon (since cheap mah) but to later discover most of them are fake:
1. logo starts to fade to dark blue (should be black ink)
2. ball still pure clean white after hitting it few times (like percept ev)
3. its not soft feel which is quite obvious.

A bunch of us went to Hanoi to play at Kings Island. They hv 36 holes and both 18s are nice. Two different layouts, the Lakes with water hazards in play in most holes and the Mountains which is more hilly and longer. Superb condition. Have to take a short motorboat ride to the club.

When we arrived at the checkpoint, everything was taken care of. Just jumped into the boat and got ourselves to the tee box. We opted to walk and it was a nice experience. The carts are quite expensive, about 40USD.

They hv promotion every Friday.
