played at Amata Spring on Monday. what an excellent course. Practice green that was like carpet, not a blemish. Fairways were in excellent conditions. Green were lightly sanded but still far better than any of the course I played. My friends who are members of RSGC, Kota Permai and KLGCC said none of the MY courses can even come close.

It was an absolute joy to play on a such an immaculate course.

This is the 17th hole, island green. A boat will take the players to the green. 150yards but plays about 160. not easy to play with wind blowing. I managed to get on in one but holed out for par. Cool

This is the finishing hole. Together with the 17th, these two holes were simply beautiful, just to stand and look at it, let alone playing on it. Got a double but finished the round with a 83. Not bad for a first.

Wow! Thanks for sharing the pics and the review.

Will definitely find an opportunity to play there. My thai golfing experience was only in Chiangmai and it was wonderful! Alpine, santiburi and a few others and all of their conditions are a lot better than most courses found in malaysia. The thais really set a high standard for golf in the region.

Yes! Thailand has a lot of great courses if you're willing to pay for it. Amata is probably as expensive as it will get so, needless to say, it will have to be one of the best in Thailand.

yes. Amata was RM650/- per person. We also played at Alpine Resort CC (RM450/-). Both are championship courses and hosted some tour events last year.

KLGCC members have reciprocal at Amata. KLGCC & Kota Permai members have reciprocal at Alpine.

Lost my phone when I arrived there. Bummer...couldn't take any pictures. The pics above were taken by my friends.

Dear Sir, presume that if we are not KLGCC or Kota Permai members, we are not able to play there? I was told that it was a members only club and not open to public walk ins.

You can play both Alpine and Amata if you make bookings through a golf agent in Thailand. Amata will cost around THB6500 and Alpine around THB4500-5000. However, even the golf agent is a bit selective which clients they sign in!

Cheers.

I'm not so sure. But since we booked via a reciprocal member, we had our own lockers and stuff already planned. Each of us we given a buggy and a caddy and towel for the game. So, we were driven around the course by the caddies.
I tried to take my umbrella and the caddy said its her job to hold umbrella for me. Embarassed Very Happy

Here's a picture of the locker with my name. Cool

That's why despite the rising green fee prices, Thailand is still a favorite golfing destination for many nationalities.

Service like that is unheard of in Malaysia. I've had caddies in Malaysia, happily watching me rake the bunkers while in Thailand and Indonesia, I was almost chased out of the bunker by my caddy when I tried to rake it after my shot!

Magic, I don't believe such services exists in Malaysia, not in Mines, KLGCC, Saujana or IOI for sure.

I've played in other courses in thailand to but none with this kind of service. Even Alpine didn't have lockers and caddies already assigned and waiting for us.

All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable experience worth every bit of that RM650/-
