Just want to ask if there is a higher risk if the mobile number - linked to my credit card account - resides on a smartphone.

I received an MSOS code for a few hundred USD today out of the blue. I did not do any online transaction. I read the sms a few hours late but fortunately the trx did not go thru.

Is it possible for these fraudsters to install some virus that can forward my sms'es to their phone? That would be one way for them to get the msos code, no?

Tell me I'm paranoid... but I just switched to a mobile number on a normal offline phone ... or is that just as risky?

Yes, it's possible. even the browsers on smartphone store "cookies". Any apps you install could possible install trojans running and monitoring your key strokes.

Better if you let me keep your credit card/ bank details with me. sure safe wan. Very Happy Very Happy

So worried that you have to ask 3 times. Yes, seriously. Google virus and Trojans on smartphones.

We provide mobile solutions for sales people. We can track their movement, emails and SMS done on their company phones. We can do more than that. However we do that only when the management asks for it without the sales people's knowledge.

Simple. Don't keep passwords, pins etc on your phone/PC. If you are in a restaurant/crowded area and get a bluetooth file transfer request, don't accept it. Don't use a smartphone. Very Happy
