I have yet to be able to play Hole 5 consistently well... something about that damn par 3 that still gets to me, dammit!!

Same goes for Hole 18... from the blue tee, looks like a par 5 to me. I think the yardage markers are wrong...

My favorite hole... #4... dem wide fairway. Can bomb the drive from the tee-box... but when you look at the approach shot... bola kecut sial!! & I'm not referring to the golf ball...

i think its my most enjoyable course to play in. i also not bored at all, been playin here since 1997.
maintained quite ok la, but it may get soggy at times(2nd nine Sawit) - esp rain the night before.
my fav hole of all is the 16th hole, they used to have a palm tree smack right center of fairway.
if u are a straight hitter and know ur distance well, then this 18holes sure fun.

Had a round of golf there yesterday, and is my first time there.

Very challenging course for 1st timer as need to play accurate game.
Cow grass.
Slow Green, not sure on a dry day as i played after rain.
Fairway - would not said the best but not too bad and well maintain.
T-Box - not too bad, at least you can find some even ground.
Average PAR 3 is about 175 meter.

Will go back there for 2nd time to conquer it.

Glad you find KRTU "not too bad" to worth a second try.
In fact, it rained very heavily at the course yesterday morning. Despite the rain, you might find the ground was generally not soggy after the rain stopped. "Not too bad" huh?
That is why my group has been playing there almost every week for more than 13 years. Almost every hole has got its character lah.

agree with okwoon

consider among the toughest course in malaysia...

not a forgiving course n greens like kerepok. (hole 2, 4, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17)

i f u can tackle this course, i believe u can play other course better.

Any KRTU members here who's willing to accept 1 ball to join on weekends? I'm a KRTU member, but don't have regular kakis in the club... and I don't fancy playing with my dad and his kakis.

I am rather surprised zaily did not include hole 18. A 420m long par 4 with a deep wide ravine uphill from about 100m befroe the green.

This hole is very challenging for a lot of players who mostly lay up to reach the green in 3 strokes, hopefully. Usual stuff lah to "#@*+" when blowing this hole but the taste of conquering this hole and get a par (even bogey) is beyond words to describe.

botak,

Many are apprehensive and curious about KRTU.
I have played there once. Either you see it as a challenge or write it off for some trivial reasons. I admit to being the latter Crying or Very sad

Do post in the buddies thread and invite the curious ones to enjoy what KRTU has to offer in terms of its 'extreme' offerings Cool Laughing

Having said, this is one course I will go back to.

my tips for hole 18 KRTU. acltually that hole we have to manage properly...

from Tee box to the hazard (220M). what i practice is tee off with 3 or 5 wood.. lay up just before the 150M maker which is the ground flatter. i f u realise.. after 150M maker there is down slope which make us more difficult to hit and the hazard in front is waiting for us and the 2nd short i use rescue or 5 wood to the green. aim left.. and try to safe par or boggie. don't bet too aggressive on that hole.. must be a reason why it's index 2.

good luck.

Great tips, Zaily! The slope before the ravine that causes awkward standing position has "killed" many players.
