I will try to write short summary of this course, as i played with a buddy here yesterday 14/06/2010... Surprised

From the 1st tee-box, can see clearly the tight cowgrass fairway infront with nice cut all the way, but the only thing that i noticed here is the rough. very thick. hard to find ballz if roll into it. and also not forgetting the thick bushes and jungle covering each hole. all buggy are well maintained, and strictly on track.

no internal OB, only beyond the jungle and road side.

for the green, my ballz rolls nicely like i played at PDRM Titiwangsa and it fast, but not so fast like Seri Selangor or Danau. well maintained green. really like it! true putting all the way from 1st hole to 18th hole.... Very Happy Smile Laughing
surely undulating green, & 1 of the hole (forget which hole no) it has huge hilly side on the green. if u lay up short, then have to putt ur ballz upward into the hole. seriously very difficult but it's a challenge anyway.
from what i observed, when they spread the sand (tabur pasir), then they will immediately brought in a tractor (a kind of machine) to clear all the sand on the green as fast as they can. they maintained the green for every single 18th hole now.
all the labour here are hardworking to ensure that all the green are in really nice condition.

I found no soggy for the 1st nine, but only a few last holes on the 2nd nine and its only on the area to lay up before the green.

Yardage (metre) info at tee-box sometimes a bit confusing.
have to checked & observed the layout 1st, then only can decide what are the proper club to use. wrong selection surely will get the ballz into the waterfall, small river, thick bushes or jungle. Laughing

the problem here i encounter is the small fairway with a lot, really a lot of bunker!
bunker are anywhere! bunker are not really maintained here.
50% of the bunker population here has water with muddy sand inside.

course management have to be really strong becoz of the small & tight fairway.
need to think, observe and make a proper shot to put the ballz on the right place. course yardage (metre) overall is only 5918metre. some hole are really long and straight forward, some hole are short but with narrow and surely hilly fairway.

for the scenery, really nice. as i enjoyed much for the green trees with some fauna (baboon & monkey, and also rabbit farm beside) can be found here, and also the breeze air, windy cold blows all the way from the 1st tee-box to the last 18th hole green...i really enjoyed so much played with no stressed and both of us played like AVOID FAST PLAY! hehe... Laughing Very Happy Smile

i am thinking of playing here again, to recover my bad shot, with wrong judgement (for the 1st-timer) maybe before the fasting month, if i have a next chance again.
Laughing Cool Very Happy

some of the photo taken, not much, but its the fact from what i have written.
some of u guys maybe not really support for what i have wrote here, but this is my personal judgment from what i feel... Cool Smile
please apologise for my bad words... Wink

oh yea, almost forgot some more info :>

1) the girl @ the registration counter said for SSG cardholder can enjoy rate
@ RM58.00 / pax (sharing buggy) on Weekdays.

2) if bring along family/kids, so many types of games/sport/facilities can be enjoyed here. they have bowling, swimming pool, cafe, rabbit park, and all sort of Berjaya Hills bukit Tinggi excitement.

3) i saw a few Indon lady caddie accompanied the foreign golfer (Koreans/Amaericans)

4) must complete play 18 holes, if not, it was so far away from the 9th hole to the club house. they already provide a golfer's hut after the 9th hole.

5) F&B is nice, but extremely very pricey (for highland F&B price surely like this!)

I echo geraldsaw.

Sy@h, no need to apologize. You have made a good evaluation of the course. Thanks for the effort.

Just to clear things up. The gripe some golfers have with Berjaya Hills is the unfair treatment by the manager who seem to have priority of putting local golfers in the 'pariah' category. Nothing to do with your enjoyment of the course.

Much appreciate your effort and keep it up!

Good review. Wanted to go there, but because I'm one of the victim (Local golfer not priority) so Berjaya Hills is not in my list anymore..... Cool But looking at your photo macam tak boleh tahan loooo....hahahaa

TokWan and Bro Hisyam,

yes, i knew that kinda sort of story behind these golf course, not a long time ago happen to our fella local golfer.

but, i might say that kinda thing happen when the previous management manage the course.

maybe, now no more. they improved and keep on improving a lot. these can be observed.

finally, it is up to the golfer to rate whatever course they experienced before.

happy golfing... Razz Laughing Cool

Just played there yesterday.

There is a driving range but didn't look like it was in operation.

On the course:
1. Fairways tight lined with bunkers to catch your drives.
2. Very undulating fairways and around the greens with cowgrass .
3. Grass/rough poorly grown in certain areas esp. near greens.
4. Greens are very undulating as well but good condition, receptive, but relatively slow. (Think they are rotating maintenance on the greens now, sand filling as mentioned in other posts - but only 1 of the 18 greens was worked on the day).
5. Although a short course but I think it plays much longer due to damp cowgrass fairways and possibly a colder ball in that weather.

Overall a very interesting and challenging course to play.

Anyone care to share your experience if the ball travelled as far, further or no difference up on this highland course?

Played there yesterday with Mygolf friends:

Latest Conditions:

Reception:
Ok. Easy and that lady at the counter pun boleh tahan jugak. Laughing

Tee Box:
Need slight improvement, litle bit not even. Generally playable. Lousy player always try to find excuse what.

Fairway:
Cowgrass. Careful if you always play on bermuda. Need few adjustment for bad player like me. Overall maintained very well.

Fairway play tight with lots of carry over ravine, river and careful on side jungle. Brings lots of balls. Me lost more than 5 balls on first nine. Laughing. The fairway undulation also can be blamed for eating your balls.

Rough:
Well maintain and overall okay la.

Green:
This visit was very dissapointing because the sanding works is just completed on all 18 greens. Can't putt and no normal ball rolling. Avoid this course for couple of weeks maybe. Alamak, this Sunday joint monthly medal la pulak.

View and Breeze:
One of the best golf view in Malaysia. Just wondering if they can plant bermuda there.
Cool breeze is wonderful even at 12.30pm.

In General:

Will visit again and again lah for the view and the cool winds. On Monday just need to pay 53 ringgit and less crowd. Even can practice many time on the green. Laughing
