Hi guys, just to share my experience of golf driver fitting recently which left me confused and upset.
I recently went to this XXX fitting studio which I've see lots of good reviews on the web, so I proceed with making an appointment with them.
While fitting, no questions was asked by the fitter about my game, what im hoping to achieve in this fitting process etc, I've to initiate the conversation. After a few shafts was narrowed down and finally we decided a shaft that was suitable for me. The fitting process took about 30 minutes.
This was when the mixed feelings came in, I proceed to ask them on the price of the particular shaft, they gave me a price, I felt it was higher compared to market. I bargained and they were not willing to give a discount and they will waive the fitting cost which is RM150 and also installation cost. I thought to myself, isn't fitting should come free with the shaft you buy from them and installation charges too?
The entire process was too sudden and quick, and with the present of a few staffs looking at me (it was a small studio), i felt pressured. So i decided to proceed with the purchase.
I've a feeling I was upcharge, so I decided to check with 2 other fitting studios which i searched thru web. True enough, I was upcharge 25% on that particular shaft. The price was 4 figures, so 25% is a lot.
It was my first time fitting, the process left me feeling confused and intimidated.
Do you guys have any fitting experiences to share? Or advise can be given to newbie like me on fitting.
