Hi Brian,

I think you should add in Sarawak Club Golf Resort as the latest golfing outlet in Kuching.
I understand this course is relatively new, just bout 2-3 years back.
So apart from KGS, Damai & Borneo Highland, you can try out this new course (located just next to UMS )
which I found to be quite an interesting course.
The 2nd Nine (jungle) is very tight and narrow and teeing off many holes had taken out
some hours out of my life..
I have included some photos for yr viewing pleasures...

Finally back home on last day of June.
Went for a walk 9 holes at Matang 9 that same day and was scorching hot. They only recently hallow tinned the greens so was very slow, bumpy and sandy. Santubong 9 was still closed as all covered with sand.
Yesterday went Demak/Matang on buggy with some old friends. Demak side the greens much better.
Today got some group from KRTU coming in will join them as well.

KGS - you can hardly loose balls (unless water hazard) as the course is so clean and well maintain.

Samarahan GC - long course but seems easier to play than KGS. Less up and down fairway and dogleg.

Personally prefer KGS.

I would have thought Samarahan G C was much shorter especially the 2nd nine.
But KGS siol demak more ponds so may lose more balls that side compared to matang santubong. Yesterday siol lost 3 balls demak none.

Yesterday went another 18 played Matang santubong as siol demak got some dayak association tournament.
Santubong 9 greens very sandy and slow and even got bite ball will not run as usual when approaching while Matang side a bit better now.
Give another week or so should be back to normal.
Some holes see some upgrading work being done on the fairways so hope they get it right on the drainage this time so when the wet season comes the course will still be playable.
Went round in less than 3 hours!

Siol 9 complete top dressing now all full of sand.
demak 9 closed
Matang 9 greens almost there by next week should be superb.
santubong 9 greens still a bit grainy and hole 15 just sanded.

Course condition not as good as in previous years, SGCC and Damai now much better.
Worth noting that club recently introduced compulsory use of caddie for all visitors/non members.
