Or as a very important Datuk looking person told me at kgss - if you're in a hurry go play somewhere else or if your grandfather can afford it build your own golf course.

then I would say, if you are too slow to play, go to build your own course, then you can play at your own turtle pace

Neither turtle pace till the sun set
Nor lightning speed to break neck
But play at a pace everyone can enjoy
Without wasting others' time waiting
Without everyone tired of running like mad

Just what is the ideal pace
Observe the signs at some courses
They will tell you what the ideal duration is

i think sometimes it's not just the 'rambo' golfers, but the PGA wanna-be that slows up the whole game. Every putt will read and re-read umpteen times, and end up missing anyway, and then go read and re-read it again. and all this while, his other flight mates just stand at the side not doing anything until their turn, then they start reading their lines.

Met one of these recently! His trademark? 2 practice swings with full finish held for 2-3 seconds. That's after standing behind the ball, staring at the target pensively while putting on his gloves, yet to choose his club. 10secs to execute a 3foot putt. Laughing

Had a similar playing partner once upon a time, he would even very meticulously and obviously pace his chips and even his putts!! Imagine in the hot afternoon sun everyone waiting for him. But he soon found that everyone was not free to play him so I believe he did give it up - the pacing I mean. I wonder if it's the same person. Laughing Laughing
