CK East-Golf Malaysia ‘Champion of Champions’ Championship 2018

Shah Alam, 18 August 2018: The 32nd hosting of this unique two-day tournament, originally conceived to bring the champions of golf clubs from Malaysia and Singapore together to duke it out for honours on an annual basis, was as expected – competitive, friendly and successful.

Three champions were crowned with Green Jackets, Men, Women and Senior, at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Golf Club, Shah Alam, August 18, and with the sponsorship of premier property developer CK East Group, the occasion also offered to all who participated the opportunity to win a hole-in-one prize of a property voucher worth RM300,000.

With much on the line to play for, in no small part because Official Equipment sponsor Srixon Sports Asia had an array of their latest golf equipment and accessories waiting to be presented once the winners were declared, it was every player for themselves when the blare of the horn heralded the start of play.

CIMB Classic Prime For Another Exciting Week Of World-Class Golf In October

Kuala Lumpur, 28 August 2018: The CIMB Classic will celebrate its ninth edition from 11 to 14 October 2018, with the sole PGA TOUR-sanctioned tournament in Southeast Asia primed to serve another exciting week of world-class golf in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

CIMB Classic 2018 was launched today by Malaysia’s Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, His Honourable Steven Sim Chee Keong, together with Tengku Dato’ Sri Zafrul Aziz, Group CEO, CIMB Group, Datuk Ahmad Shah Hussein Tambakau, Chairman of Tourism Malaysia, Effendy Shahul Hamid, CEO of Group Commercial Banking and Group Asset Management & Investments, CIMB Group and Todd Rhinehart, Vice President and Executive Director of PGA TOUR.

Title holder Pat Perez of the United States has confirmed his return to Malaysia to defend the CIMB Classic after a dominant four-shot victory over compatriot Keegan Bradley in 2017. With a US$7 million prize fund, which is not only amongst the Top 3 richest tournaments in Asia Pacific, but also Malaysia’s biggest annual sporting showpiece, CIMB Classic will feature 60 professional golfers from the 2017-18 PGA TOUR’s FedExCup final points standing at TPC Kuala Lumpur’s newly-upgraded West course.

Kuala Lumpur, 9 August 2018: After three days of grueling and competitive play, Ervin Chang emerging top on the leader board at the 13th Kuala Lumpur Amateur Open held at Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam (KGPA).

Ervin Chang shot a 66 and 67 on Day One and Day Two respectively and finished in top spot on Final Day with a score of 2-over-par 74 for 9-under-par 207 tournament total. Of his stellar performance, he said, “It’s been a challenging game, and everyone on the field has provided an enjoyable play over the three days. There were some very good players in the field and I was hard pressed to maintain my game plan. However, I managed to keep my cool and focused on my game one shot at a time.”

Malaysia’s Premier Ladies Amateur Open All Set To Attract The Region’s Top Players

Kuala Lumpur, 26 July 2018: The prestigious Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC) will host 100 of the most promising female amateur golfers from Malaysia and the region for the 44th edition of the RSGC Ladies Amateur Open, held over the weekend of August 10 to 12, 2018. The event is being held in conjunction with the RSGC’s 125th Anniversary and to mark the significant occasion, the RSGC unveiled its first ever tournament logo today.

This year the historic tournament welcomes players from Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia and for the first time Bangladesh, Kazakhtan and Sri Lanka. The players will compete for the four coveted trophies – Tuanku Bahiyah (Gross Champion), Toh Puan Norashikin (Nett Champion), Datin Azian (Team Gross Champion) and Clarissa Lee (Team Nett Champion). The event is open to amateur players with a USGA handicap of 17.4 and lower.
